72,000 Square Foot Indoor Recreation Facility Approved
Facility Anchors Town Center & Builds on Korb Sports Complex
The Town of Cedarburg will become home to Steve Becker’s Athlete Performance 72,000 square foot multi-use indoor facility. This will be Becker’s second such project in the area, growing from his original location in Mequon. Athlete Performance (AP) will be the primary tenant occupying the gym area and additional square footage for training. AP is a sports performance company that works with youth athletes to improve their performance in selected sports. The large multi-use gymnasium will be utilized as a training area for AP, North Shore United Soccer, and home to I AM Volleyball. These two groups are club teams that will utilize the facility year-round.
“A project of this quality and magnitude is even more than originally envisioned for the Town Center and partners seamlessly with the adjacent outdoor recreation fields,” said Chairman David Salvaggio.
“We are extremely excited to bring this project to the area to provide an opportunity for athletes of all ages to compete in a safe environment to reach whatever goals they may have. The Athlete Performance Sports Complex will be a one stop shop for individuals and teams to do so,” said Steve Becker.
In addition to youth athletics and related uses, the facility aims to host pickleball group sports Monday-Friday 8am-3pm from Sept.-May, volleyball and futsal tournaments from September-June, as well as intermural adult leagues for volleyball and futsal. Regular hours are planned to be from 6am-11pm, seven days a week. Additional tenants will provide sports psychology, nutrition, massage and other types of therapy. Construction on the project should begin over winter in hopes of being open in the fall of 2024.
