Public Schools

The Cedarburg public school district offers its approximate 3,100 students a rigorous education preparing students for college, work and beyond. Click here to view a map of the district. The Washington Post has ranked Cedarburg High School among the most challenging High Schools in the country; #1 in WI for public, non-charter high schools and #2 in WI overall. This ranks CHS in the top 2% of high schools in the nation. CHS has also been recognized by U.S. News and World Report on their annual list of Best High Schools in the nation. The majority of children in the Town of Cedarburg attend classes in the Cedarburg school district, which provides education at the following schools: Cedarburg High School (9-12)Webster Transitional (6-8)Parkview Elementary (K-5)Thorson Elementary (K-5), and Westlawn Elementary (K-5).

The school district includes all of the City, most of the Town of Cedarburg (a small portion of the east side of Town attend the Grafton school district), and parts of the City of Mequon, the Town of Jackson, and the Town and Village of Grafton. Cedarburg High School is accredited by the North Central Accrediting Association, and is a member of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association and the North Shore Conference. The high school offers 22 extracurricular athletic and organizations, including the Community Service Volunteer Program.

Private Schools

St. Francis Borgia Catholic school is centrally located near Five Corners in the Town of Cedarburg. The school has 320 students and educates children in grades preschool 3K-8th grade. First Immanuel Lutheran School is also a PK-8 school in Cedarburg with approximately 320 children. A number of students at all levels are also homeschooled in Ozaukee County. Ozaukee Homeschoolers Network provides learning resources, legal information, and general support for parents and children involved in home schooling. The Oscar Grady library in Saukville also offers materials for homeschooled children.

Post-Secondary Schools

Several post-secondary educational facilities are available in close proximity to the Town of Cedarburg. These include the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), which maintains a field station with research facilities in the Town of Saukville at the Cedarburg Bog Natural Area, the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) Mequon campus, Concordia UniversityMarquette UniversityMilwaukee School of Engineering, and Wisconsin Lutheran College.
